They grow up so fast!
A year ago we were preparing her bottles and watching her explore her world.
Now we’re repairing her fences and watching her explore outside her bounds.
Charlotte is our miracle calf. Delivered by emergency c-section moments after her mother was slaughtered for meat, she’s now free to live in peace and comfort. We think every day about her poor mother, who never got to meet her. We think about the contrast between her beginning and her present. Starting life in the horror of a slaughterhouse, she’s now living a pampered life among friends.
Now that she’s growing and thriving, this rascally redhead needs some help. She’s big and strong enough to break through her fences and gates.
She’s an active and curious toddler. And she’s as big as a compact car.
She looks so innocent while she’s smashing her fence. Just look at the face.
This rascal is dear to us. Her life provides inspiration and education to our visitors. And she’s a dear friend to her older goat and sheep siblings, who helped raise and nurture her from her earliest, wobbly days.
This spring, we’ll replace and fortify her fencing to keep her safe and secure. This also helps keep her goat and sheep friends secure, keeping her from knocking down the fences that normally hold them in.
Our goal is $4,500 and we’re offering special thank-you gifts to our friends who help us reach that goal.
