In order to make our work parties more managable and ensure everyone has a valuable experience, we are putting a cap on the number of volunteers for each of our work parties. Please sign up below if you are planning to attend this work party.

Our volunteer work parties are a great way to visit the sanctuary, do some work to help keep our sanctuary stay clean and running smoothly, and get to know our residents. Volunteering at Wildwood Farm Sanctuary is a fun and meaningful way to spend a few hours! We host volunteer work parties year-round, every other Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Chores may include:

  • Cleaning the pastures, play areas and barn stalls
  • Removing old straw and replacing with fresh
  • Cleaning water and food dishes
  • Feeding the residents
  • Grooming and socializing
  • Making minor repairs to our barn, fencing and enclosures
  • Small building projects (Please let us know if you have carpentry experience)
  • Assisting our licensed veterinary technician with routine health care
  • As an all-volunteer non-profit with no paid staff, an abundance of β€œheart” work goes in to running a farm sanctuary and caring for our beloved family.

THINGS TO BRING FOR WORK PARTY:

1. Work Boots. Really important in the mud and poops.
2. Work Gloves. Boots and Gloves can be obtained inexpensively at thrift stores and are important for your safety.
3. Water bottle or something to drink.
4. Snacks ( All food must be free of animal product ingredients out of respect for our animals ) if you want them. You can build up a good appetite in the country.

Reminders:

  • In order to help us plan better please RSVP if you plan to attend.
  • Please bring reusable water bottles, coffee mugs and a vegan snack. We are trying to cut down on waste. Thanks!!
  • BEANIES AND RAINCOATS FOR SALE. πŸ˜€
  • PLEASE- do not bring your personal pets to the sanctuary. If weather allows following our work party, stay for a hike and tour of our natural areas and learn more about our animals and conservation efforts at Wildwood. Please bring appropriate outdoor attire to wear.
  • We have had to make the difficult decision to suspend feeding treats to the animals during visitations, for their dietary safety and health. We have found that we can allow visitors more interactive time with animals this way as well ! We still appreciate your donations though, and there will buckets to collect donations. Our residents LOVE watermelon and the chickens love apples and lettuce. πŸ™‚
  • Children under 18 are welcome at our work parties! However, they must be supervised by parents.
